All that you Could Have Been
Sitting here on my front porch, drinking a glass of homemade lemonade, I think of all that you could have been. You had the brains, you had the charm to influence, to inspire and the willpower to achieve a higher power, that man could only dream of, that women could only desire that all man could possess. You were a dear friend, freshly born into this world, with eyes that visualized glorious possibilities. Back then, whenever my eyes gazed into yours, I could see that, with you, life could be bearable and I would suffer it with you to the end. Now as I look at my half empty glass of lemonade, I savor the sweetness, for the next drink will be bitter, for all that you could have been.
You could have been something more. You kept your eyes fixated on the world that breeds sin, in the world that was created by fire and nurtured in blood, destined to end in fire. Your will was to chase the pleasures of this world, while still holding fast to your soul, but every
