Pass the Poem-Finally!

FINALLY After forever (my bad), and a lot of tracking people down and some other stuff, I finally have the finished piece for pass the poem. It turned out really well, and I'm super proud of how it turned out. Thanks to all the participants for making this a fun activity!!

Even in the absence of hope, my soul still yearns,
To see what lies beyond the dawn.
I've been told of a magic that can make my wishes come true.
Although it lies on a path none have been able to reach.

A path through the deepest depths of despair,
That only the purest of heart can endure.
Which is were we arrive at the problem - mine is surely impure.

To the depths of red cinders a blight of lucid dreams
And trapped in a chipped glass heart on salted cheeks
My thoughts start to wander, they're drifting apart
Words rot wrapped around my larynx, escape barred by gritted teeth
And knitted bone. haematite thistle spitting "devil thou art"

For I desperately yearn for the dream that burns
Longing consumes me like a wild, fervent flame. Wishing, wanting, dreaming, dying.
I'm Satan in alabaster...tiptoeing on borrowed winged feet.
Soon I will fall into the tar of sorrow, which shall consume me
My lungs will ache with final, baited breath...
and tossed tear stains shall pale my ambitions in death.

Frigid hands through corroding glacial barriers, grasping.
but speculate! when agony ashes, thrown in an ocean kiss, interludes-
I am alive, set free from torment amid sand-timer dreams
