Come What MayOne week.
Seven days.
One hundred and sixty eight hours.
You count the seconds away
Absolute and Meticulous.
But what if that was all the time
you could have?
You quake and deny.
Rattle and Roll.
But we only see what they want to believe
don't we?
You predict what you don't know.
What you can't see.
Crossing your fingers to hope for a miracle.
That your time is not up
and we all have to march to your beat.
Nails dirty with grit.
When you try to claw your way over
crumbling giants.
Yesterday is a wounded animal.
You run but you fall.
You pull all the ones you love down with you
into that hellish place.
You betray.
You let them down.
That cold laughter in your head
driving your madness onward.
Hunted and despairing.
You can't run from yourself when the world will not let you.
Not when the clock's ticking
Not when it's time for you to get
what is infinitely yours.

It was really interesting to read all of the entries, for one second I even regretted deleting the piece I wrote for this prompt, not that it would win, but that it'd be great to have it surrounded with such brilliant pieces of writing :D entrants: well done and good luck to you all :)
